How I began making scarves

I began painting silk scarves in 2006, as a way to make a gift for a friend who was celebrating her retirement. Here is a brief look at the first one I made, which turned out to be for my mother. The friend got the second scarf, a pretty bright abstract that would go with anything.

My first attempt at painting on silk was this little hanky. Not bad for a first try. Click on the thumbnail to see a larger picture. Use your browser's back button to return to this page.
